Sarah established her namesake firm in 2008 following an undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University, a masters program in interior design at Parson’s The New School and an internship with renowned designer Celerie Kemble. 

After several years among the industry giants of New York City, Sarah brought the firm back to Old Town in Chicago where it has been headquartered ever since. 

Sarah Vaile Design quickly became the sought-after choice among Chicago’s elite with projects spanning Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast to the esteemed suburbs of Winnetka, Kenilworth and Hinsdale. They also enjoyed four consecutive appearances in the esteemed Lake Forest Showhouse.

The firm has since expanded its presence across the United States with projects reaching from New York City, Boston and Washington D.C., to Palmetto Bluff.

Lindsay serves as the ultimate classic visionary partner to Sarah. Known within the firm as The Sourcerer, if Lindsay can’t find your dream furniture piece or fabric, it probably doesn’t exist.

Lindsay came to Sarah Vaile Design with over a decade of experience in the field at renowned design firms Allesandra Branca and Boston-based Heather Wells. Serving as Sarah’s collaborative design partner for seven years, Lindsay brings both an incredibly fine tuned design eye and an arsenal of design knowledge.

As a partner of 16 years, Melissa is commonly referred to as the yin to the firm’s creative yang.

Melissa ensures that all creative ideas are executed in a timely and budgetary manner with a precise eye on all ordering and installation.
