PROJECT MUSE

When this client first came to us, she shared that she couldn’t wait to transform her entire home with us. Remnants of the Cape Cod home’s original grandeur were still evident here and there throughout the home but, for the most part years of unremarkable renovations had diluted the home’s charm. We immediately jumped onboard this journey.

First up was the home’s main entrance. Our client knew she wanted a grand moment in the foyer with a center table and wainscoting up the stairs. When we found a vintage Italian fixture to anchor the room, it was an immediate yes.

Our client also envisioned converting the office off of the front entrance into a cozy library encased in bookshelves. This launched a room transformation that even stunned our own design team. We took a very plain box and gave it a special moment every direction you turned. First there was the arched opening over the sofa, then a row of arched keystone shelves adorned with our client’s fun and whimsical art. A vintage game table surrounded by canary yellow game chairs doubled as a laptop station by the row of windows in the front.

The icing on the cake was the powder room. Again, a very average room with a very average pedestal and wallpaper, we saw the opportunity to convert the space into a full length vanity in Calcutta Violetta surrounded by burgundy lacquered paneling and a ceiling in handprinted tortoiseshell.

With these transformations, the front of the home was officially party ready!

NOTEWORTHY MOMENT

Of all of the paint colors out there, green has to be one of the hardest to nail. There is a very fine line between a blah sage and a wicked witch green. We must have pulled at least fifty shades of green before landing on the perfect shade. Only to be informed that the cabinetry had its own line of paint colors so we would need to dive into the many shades of green all over again.

We knew we had nailed it the second the cabinetry was installed.

In the client’s own words…
